Bio

Ross McIntire was born and raised in Menlo Park, CA. He began playing piano at age eight and drums at age ten. As a freshman, Ross joined the renowned Menlo-Atherton High School Jazz Band and toured Europe in 2002 and 2004.

After Hurricane Katrina, Ross began class at Loyola University New Orleans. He has studied with Geoff Clapp, Troy Davis, Johnny Vidacovich, and Derrek Phillips. During his time at Loyola, Ross has either played or performed with Corey Christiansen, Bob Mintzer, Adam Levy, Ron Blake, Brian Lynch, and members of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance.

In 2007, the Loyola Jazz Ensemble traveled to compete in the University of North Texas Jazz Festival. The band won 1st place and Ross received an award for Outstanding Soloist. After the competition, the band performed at the night concert, opening for pianist Kenny Barron.

Ross is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, having completed a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies, with minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship.

Ross lives in New Orleans and plays music around the city. Ross spends his free time running, biking, designing websites, and occasionally skateboarding.
