Ross McIntire was born and raised in Menlo Park, CA. He began playing piano at age eight and drums at age ten. As a freshman, Ross joined the renowned Menlo-Atherton High School Jazz Band and toured Europe in 2002 and 2004. After Hurricane Katrina, Ross began class at Loyola University New Orleans. In 2007, the Loyola Jazz Ensemble traveled to compete in the University of North Texas Jazz Festival. The band won 1st place and Ross received an award for Outstanding Soloist. After the competition, the band performed at the night concert, opening for pianist Kenny Barron. Ross is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, having completed a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies, with minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship He has studied with Geoff Clapp, Troy Davis, Johnny Vidacovich, and Derrek Phillips Currently, Ross lives in New Orleans and plays music around the city. He is a member of local indie-pop band The Blue Party. The band plays in and out of town, often touring throughout the south and midwest. Ross spends his free time running, biking, designing websites, and occasionally skateboarding. |
